Macro Monday

As some of you know I recently got back from a trip to TX for a photographers convention. I got to stay with my awesome, sweet, inspirational, tell it to you straight kinda girl and most fabulous cousin who I have not seen for 4 yrs! And before that we have only actually meet twice before. Once when we were kids and a few yrs back when she came to Michigan for a visit. She is also a wonderful photographer and if you live in the San Antonio area please be sure to check HER out! She took some pics of me for my website & I am oh so pleased.  And if you are a photographer then you know being on the other side of the camera is NOT easy!

So I must admit I am not one to fly. Before this last time it had been 10 yrs since I last flew and that was to Hawaii for our honey moon & before that it had been 10 yrs. Needless to say I don’t fly much. And even though I am not crazy about flying the site from up in the air is like NO OTHER! It was STUNNING! I snapped this picture (yes with my macro) on the first flight home, it was around sun set time & it was BEAUTIFUL. This image doesn’t even do it justice! So if anything, I got to experience that and all of its beauty!

I am going to do something fun for next week. I often get asked questions on what type of macro I have or what my settings are on certain images. I thought it would be fun to have an ASK SUMMER ANYTHING blog post. Well maybe not ANYTHING, for the most part I am an open book and am willing to share almost anything whether it pertains to photography or not. So go ahead and ask away, you can either comment below or email. Which ever you prefer. I will answer them next week in a post! Ready – - Set – - – ASK!

Do you use different focal points for your macros or do you focus and recompose?

2 part question: 1. When you are shooting your macros, what things are you taking into consideration and implementing?

2. What things do you avoid? And do you avoid these things due to past failed attempts, or because it looks unappealing to your creative eye?

When you become rich and famous can I be your “people”? (Have “your people” call “my people”) ;)

I have some questions, and maybe because I did not see the answers in your blog. Forgive me.

1.) Why use the macro vs. prime lenses? Do you ever use your macro for anything else besides nature pictures?
2.) What actions do you like to use in PS when you edit your pictures?
3.) What other lenses do you like to use?

Your photography is just amazing. I love it.
